May Performance = 1.7%
May is a good month for me. One of my perpetually late loan has caught up with its repayment schedule, lifting May Cash ROI to 1.7%.
For the first 5 months, average cash ROI = 1.5% per month. Which means I have a chance of exceeding my goal of 12-15% return this year.
Details on my previous month’s performance can be found here.
Cash ROI = (Interest + Late Fees received) / Principal Begin
One of my problem loan – the seafood supplier – managed to catch up with its repayment. Great There’s now only 2 loans behind schedule: a construction contractor and a light snack supplier.
Real Estate Crowdfunding
Lately, I have been looking at several real estate crowdfunding options. It is an area that I am unfamiliar with; the only direct property investment I have is my HDB flat. But real estate crowdfunding does gives several advantages not found in other crowdfunding options. It is backed by a hard asset (the property!) and therefore safer than unsecured lending. Also, it gives access to previously inaccessible options (e.g. commercial property or development residential). But it can be risky because it is a very broad field with a lot to learn.
Being super cautious yet wanting to take risk, I’m still doing my groundwork research. I hope to invest in my first real estate crowdfunding soon. So stay tune to this blog…
